Our relationship with Withers Gin has developed over several years, creating photography for new products, seasonal campaigns, events, its Gin School and the core brand itself.
What began with photographing gin has grown into an extensive and varied image library, from carefully controlled bottle photography and creative campaign images to people, experiences and product launches.
Along the way, the work has appeared on everything from social media to 6m × 3m digital advertising screens, and one of our Withers Gin images won the People's Choice Award at the British Photography Awards.
Withers Derby Gin - Award-winning Photography
Withers Gin is an independent Derbyshire gin producer founded by Sarah Withers, creating distinctive gins and liqueurs alongside its Withers Gin School.
Its range has grown and changed over the years, bringing new products, limited releases, seasonal campaigns and experiences to photograph, each with its own character while remaining recognisably part of the Withers brand.
That has given us an opportunity to work with the same brand across many different briefs rather than approaching each shoot in isolation.
Over several years, we've photographed established products and new releases, created seasonal imagery for Halloween and Christmas, covered launches and events, and photographed the Withers Gin School and the people taking part.
Each project starts with what Withers needs at that particular moment. Sometimes that calls for clean, versatile product photography. At other times we can take an idea much further, building a set, creating movement or using ingredients and botanicals to tell the story behind the drink.
Working together over time also means we've developed a strong sense of the brand, the products and the technical challenges each bottle can bring. That gives us a useful starting point whenever Sarah arrives with something new.
From established favourites to new releases and limited editions.
Creative photography for Christmas, Halloween and other marketing opportunities.
From the Withers Gin School to product launches and events.
As the Withers range has developed, we've photographed new products alongside established favourites, giving each one its own visual identity while keeping the photography recognisably Withers.
Bottle photography brings particular challenges. Curved glass reflects everything around it, liquid and glass can magnify or distort parts of a label, and small changes in angle can determine whether important details remain clearly visible.
Beyond solving those technical problems, we look for what makes each product distinctive. Botanicals, ingredients, serving suggestions, movement and carefully built sets can all help tell that story, whether we're introducing a new gin, creating launch imagery or refreshing photography for an existing product.
Seasonal campaigns give us the chance to take the Withers products somewhere completely different.
For Halloween, that has meant darker, theatrical sets built around skeletons, candlelight and the bottle itself. Christmas has called for everything from baubles and festive botanicals to gingerbread houses and richer seasonal styling.
The aim isn't simply to add seasonal props around a bottle. We create an idea that suits the product and gives Withers distinctive imagery to use while that campaign is relevant, without losing the character of the brand itself.
Withers isn't just a range of products. The experiences around the brand have given us another side of the business to photograph.
We've photographed the Withers Gin School from its launch onwards, capturing the copper stills, botanicals and people creating their own gin, as well as product launches and events where the drinks move from the studio into the hands of customers.
These images give Withers photography that can promote the experience itself while showing the people, process and atmosphere behind the brand.
One of the images we created for Withers went on to win the People's Choice Award in the Commercial Product category at the British Photography Awards 2025.
The photograph features Withers Derby Gin alongside a gin and tonic, using the botanicals behind the gin to create the setting around the bottle and glass.
For us, the award was particularly special because the image came from an ongoing client relationship rather than being created purely for competition. It's photography made for a real independent drinks brand that also connected strongly enough with the public to win a national award.

Photography we've created for Withers was also used in independent postgraduate research at Nottingham Trent University examining how professional food and drink photography affects consumer perception and buying behaviour.
Participants compared professional photography with smartphone imagery. Across the study, professional photography increased the average price participants expected to pay by 40%, from £43.97 to £61.52, while also increasing perceived quality and likelihood to buy.
The photography we create needs to work wherever Withers needs it, from websites and social media to large-format advertising.
Images we've created for Withers have appeared on 6m × 3m digital advertising screens, taking photography originally created around the products and putting it in front of a much larger audience.
For a small independent brand, having a strong library of high-resolution photography means the same body of work can keep finding new uses as opportunities arise.

Julia and Adam have worked with us for several years, capturing everything from the launch of our Withers Gin School to our latest product releases.
Their latest work features stunning images that will be showcased on 6m x 3m digital screens as part of our newest marketing campaign, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results.
They are an invaluable asset to our brand, and I can't wait to see what they create next!

Several years of working together have given Withers far more than a collection of individual product photographs.
The library now spans core products, new releases, seasonal campaigns, launches, events and the Gin School, with imagery ranging from straightforward product storytelling to more ambitious creative work.
As the brand continues to develop, that library can develop with it, giving Withers both an established visual foundation and the freedom to create something completely different when the next idea calls for it.
Your photography needs can change as your business changes. A new product might need launch imagery, Christmas may call for something completely different, and an event or campaign can create opportunities you hadn't anticipated when the original photographs were taken.
Working with the same photography team over time means we get to know your products, your brand and how your imagery needs to work, while every new brief still gives us the opportunity to create something fresh.
If you're launching a drinks brand, developing an existing range or looking for a photography team you can work with over the longer term, we'd be happy to talk about what we could create together.
