Different Gins, One Brand Voice
What you’re looking at
Three gins. Three distinct flavour profiles. One consistent brand story.
This set was created for Sarah Withers at Withers Gin. Each gin has its own character — whether that’s bold, floral, or citrus-bright — but the images sit together as a collection. That harmony is deliberate: individuality in the details, consistency in the presentation.
Lighting setup
Varied from shot to shot, but broadly:
- Strobes in softboxes, through scrims, on each side, for consistent shaping across bottles and glasses
- Strobes needed to be fast, to capture the fizz coming off the glasses
- Controlled kickers behind, to give life to the glass and liquid
- Reflectors used strategically to unify highlights and maintain brand continuity
- Backgrounds and textures adjusted per flavour, but always within the same tonal range
Camera settings
- Shutter: 1/200
- Aperture: f/11
- ISO: 100
- Lens: 85mm (45mm for flat lay)
- Tripod-mounted for precision framing and repeatable positioning
Styling and prep
Each gin has its own key botanicals and character — raspberry and rose, orange zest, herbs, spices — and these were styled into the frame to hint at flavour without overpowering the hero. Props were chosen for harmony: different, but never jarring when placed side by side.
We've also left negative space for logos and messaging, and these are all designed to crop square, as required.
Editing touches
- Colour balanced across the set for consistency in tone
- Highlights and reflections shaped to keep the glassware clean and elegant
- Background textures kept subtle, allowing the ingredients to stand out
- Cleaning of any stray herbs and imperfections
- Final images checked side by side to ensure cohesion across the whole collection
Why this works
Brand photography isn’t about one standout shot. It’s about a series that looks professional, feels cohesive, and tells the same story from every angle. When a business presents images that align like this, it creates confidence and recognition.
Worth knowing
Your customers might see your brand on a shelf, a website, a menu, or a social feed. If your visuals look disjointed, trust takes a hit, and your brand may not be recognised. Consistency makes people believe in the product before they’ve even tasted it.
